In 2026, there are several avenues for former college football players to continue their pro careers. Obviously, one of the most notable is in the Canadian Football League. In what is a pretty cool story, former Michigan State football safety Devynn Cromwell will head back home to Canada after being selected in the third round by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

Cromwell, who is from Ontario, had a very unique collegiate career, spending four years at the University of Guelph in Ontario before transferring to Texas Tech, where he played one season. Cromwell was then granted a waiver to play one more season of college football, which he used to transfer to East Lansing to play with the Spartans.

Now, Cromwell will join fellow defensive back Malcolm Bell in the CFL next season.
