Michigan State football has completed the spring practice schedule and are now moving their focus to summer conditioning before the start of fall camp. With the first spring of the Pat Fitzgerald era in East Lansing coming to an end, the coaching staff should have a ton of clarity on where things stand with their depth chart heading into the fall.

For the Spartans, it is interesting to look at this new roster, and how the pieces may fall before the season opener against Toledo. Spartans Wire is going to attempt to piece the depth chart together, analyzing how we think the new roster will unfold in a depth chart manner.

After hitting the quarterbacks, running backs and wide receivers, the tight ends are next in line for projection.

1st String: Carson Gulker (Rs Sr) OR Jayden Savoury (Soph)

2nd String: Kai Rios (Rs Sr) OR Brennan Parachek (Rs Jr)

This position group has a ton of veteran depth, and a ton of competition upcoming. These are four guys that all could be the main tight end, and it would not surprise me. Rios has had a ton of hype around him in the spring, while Parachek is the true veteran that has been in the room.

Gulker is a Swiss army knife that will have to be on the field one way or another, so tight end makes sense for him there.
