Michigan State football is making big moves for the future, adding a pair of Big 12 opponents to its upcoming schedules. The Spartans announced Thursday a home-and-home series with Oklahoma State in 2028 and 2029, along with another two-game series against Cincinnati in 2030 and 2031.

These matchups bring fresh excitement to East Lansing. The Spartans and Cowboys will meet for the first time ever on Sept. 16, 2028, in Stillwater, Oklahoma, with the return game set for Sept. 15, 2029, at Spartan Stadium. It's a clash of two proud programs looking to make their mark on the national stage.

As for Cincinnati, the Bearcats and Spartans have a history that dates back to 1946, with just two previous meetings—both in East Lansing and split evenly. The series reignites on Sept. 14, 2030, in Cincinnati, followed by a home game on Sept. 13, 2031. For fans who love a good throwback rivalry, this one's a treat.

But that's not all. Michigan State also added a nonconference game against Duquesne on Sept. 4, 2027, at Spartan Stadium. It's a chance for the Spartans to build momentum early in the season against a solid FCS opponent.

Looking ahead, the Spartans' future Big Ten schedules are taking shape. In 2028, they'll host Indiana, Michigan, Rutgers, and Wisconsin, while traveling to Northwestern, Ohio State, Penn State, Purdue, and Washington. The 2029 slate features home games against Iowa, Minnesota, Penn State, Purdue, and USC, with road trips to Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, and Oregon. These are the kinds of challenges that define a season and get fans talking.

Whether you're gearing up for game day or just dreaming of future matchups, one thing's clear: Michigan State football is building for the long haul. Stay tuned for more updates as these schedules fill out!
