The Michigan Wolverines are heating up on the recruiting trail, and the buzz is all about another potential four-star addition to their 2025 class. After a weekend that saw them secure a key commitment from in-state offensive tackle Jakari Lipsey, experts are now predicting that the maize and blue could be on the verge of landing a dynamic edge rusher.
According to Rivals' Steve Wiltfong, the Wolverines are the favorites to land Indianapolis (Ind.) Franklin Central four-star EDGE Jayce Brewer. Wiltfong logged a prediction in favor of Michigan on Monday, with The Wolverine's Ethan McDowell echoing the forecast. Brewer, who ranks as the No. 214 overall prospect nationally and the 18th-best edge rusher in the country, has a top six that includes Indiana, Tennessee, Kentucky, Auburn, Michigan, and Purdue. But with a wave of spring visits now in the rearview mirror, the intel is pointing toward Ann Arbor.
"As we head into summer, the intel favors Michigan," Wiltfong noted, adding that a commitment could come soon. For a program that's been navigating the typical ups and downs of the recruiting cycle, landing Brewer would be a major statement. He would join a growing class that already features six pledges, including four-star quarterback Kamden Lopati, four-star edge rusher Recarder Kitchen, and Lipsey, among others.
Whether you're stocking up on Michigan gear for game day or just following the recruiting trail, this is a name to watch. The Wolverines are building something special, and Brewer could be the next piece of the puzzle.
