Often, fullbacks aren't given the same reverence as other high-end football players, even if they are quintessential football players. But, sometimes, fullbacks are too hard to ignore, and they end up making a huge impact. Such is the case of Max Bredeson.
Once a former walk-on, the high school quarterback followed in his baseball brother and football team captain's footsteps by leaving Hartland, Wisconsin, for Ann Arbor, Michigan. And once he arrived in Washtenaw County, the youngest Bredeson brother made his impact, becoming a two-time team captain and the Wolverines' most defiant, willing, and reliable blocker.
His talents were so recognized that he was selected in the fifth round of the 2026 NFL draft with the No. 159 pick overall by the Minnesota Vikings.

Bredeson will return closer to his home state, but while playing in the rival state of Minnesota. There, he reunites with former Wolverines quarterback J.J. McCarthy and will also team up with former Michigan safety Josh Metellus.
Not one to acquire many in the way of stats, Bredeson still managed to have two catches for 11 yards this past year. However, he broke his foot in his final game as a Wolverine, after catching a pass in a road game at Maryland.
He's the fourth Wolverine off the board, with Michigan having seen two second-round picks in Derrick Moore (Lions) and Marlin Klein (Texans), a third-round pick in Jaishawn Barham (Cowboys), and a fourth-rounder in Jimmy Rolder (Lions).
