New Steelers wideout Michael Pittman Jr. had a conversation with Aaron Rodgers a couple weeks back, but he didn’t ask the question on everyone’s mind.

"So I got to talk to him a couple of weeks ago, and to everybody's surprise, it was nothing about football,” Pittman told Casino.ca on Monday. “I didn't even ask him if he was thinking about coming back, because Aaron has done everything twice. He's seen it all.

“If he wants to come back, he's going to come back. I don't think there's anything that I can say to him where he's like, 'You know what? I think that I'll come back now.' That's just not going to happen."

Pittman, Jr. was traded from the Colts to the Steelers this offseason and could make for a lethal pass-catching duo alongside DK Metcalf, if Pittsburgh gets competent quarterback play.

Even at age-42, Rodgers would likely give the Steelers the best chance at that. The NFL Draft begins on Thursday, and while Pittsburgh would like an answer on Rodgers’ future, it seems uncertain he will be giving the team one before then.

Pittman Jr. said he’s going to give Rodgers his space and allow him to make his own decision, but would love to have the four-time MVP throwing him the football in 2026.

"Just giving him his space and his time and and if he decides to come back, then that's great, we would love him back," Pittman, Jr. said. "Obviously, I think he might be the current player who's done the most in the NFL. He's a four-time MVP. I think that his resume speaks for itself, and obviously there’s his long-standing history with coach (Mike) McCarthy, so we'll see what happens."

Will Howard is currently taking the starting quarterback reps for the Steelers in offseason work.
