Michael Harris II capped Atlanta’s comeback from a six-run deficit with a two-run homer in the ninth inning, and the Braves beat the Colorado Rockies 8-6 on Friday night. Mauricio Dubon had two hits, including a bases-loaded triple in a four-run eighth inning, and Matt Olson homered for Atlanta, which gave manager Walt Weiss a win in his return to Coors Field.

In a thrilling display of resilience, the Atlanta Braves erased a six-run deficit to defeat the Colorado Rockies 8-6 on Friday night, capped by a dramatic two-run homer from Michael Harris II in the ninth inning. The victory not only showcased the Braves' never-say-die attitude but also marked a special homecoming for manager Walt Weiss, who returned to Coors Field for the first time since his tenure as Colorado's skipper.

The Braves found themselves in a deep early hole, trailing 6-0 after the Rockies exploded for five runs in the first inning and added a solo homer from Mickey Moniak in the second. Matt Olson put Atlanta on the board with a solo shot in the fourth, cutting the deficit to 6-1, but the Braves still had plenty of work to do.

The comeback began in the seventh inning when Atlanta scratched across a run, setting the stage for a four-run eighth. Mauricio Dubon delivered the key blow, unloading the bases with a triple into the right-field corner after the Rockies walked the bases loaded. He then scored on a sacrifice fly to tie the game at 6-6.

With the momentum fully shifted, Harris took center stage in the ninth. After Jonah Heim led off with a walk, the pinch-hitting Harris launched a go-ahead homer to right field, completing the stunning comeback and sending the Braves' dugout into a frenzy.

Didier Fuentes earned the win with a scoreless inning, while Robert Suarez locked down the ninth for his fourth save of the season. The victory improved Atlanta's league-best record to 23-10, a remarkable start under Weiss, who previously went 283-365 in four seasons as Colorado's manager before being replaced in 2016. After eight seasons as Atlanta's bench coach, Weiss took over when Brian Snitker stepped down at the end of 2025, and he's clearly made an immediate impact.

For the Rockies, the loss was a tough pill to swallow after building such an early lead. Juan Mejia (0-3) took the loss after allowing the decisive homer in the ninth.

In other action around the league, Michael Busch drove in two runs to help the Chicago Cubs top the Arizona Diamondbacks, extending their winning streak to three games. Cubs second baseman Nico Hoerner exited early due to neck tightness, but Chicago's depth continues to shine through.
