Miami lands a commitment from 4-star DL Ezekiel Ayangbile: ‘I’m the missing piece’

Miami has secured a major boost to its 2027 recruiting class, landing a commitment from four-star defensive lineman Ezekiel Ayangbile. The talented prospect from Langham Creek High School in Houston, Texas, made his decision just weeks after a series of spring visits, including his first trip to Coral Gables.

"I've always had love for Miami. I love the vibe and a lot of things about the school," Ayangbile told Rivals. "The biggest thing with Miami is how dominant their DL is and how bad they wanna coach me."

The Hurricanes' coaching staff left no doubt about their interest in the nation's No. 15 defensive lineman. From head coach Mario Cristobal to position coach Damione Lewis, the entire staff made Ayangbile feel like a priority.

"It's the entire coaching staff … not just my position coach, not just the head coach, but the entire coaching staff," Ayangbile explained. "They've been extremely supportive and tell me I'm wanted — that I was the missing piece for them. The position coach was shooting for me extremely hard since they recruited me, and their track record is definitely one of the best, if not the best, at my position."

What sealed the deal for Ayangbile was Miami's proven ability to develop defensive linemen for the next level. The Hurricanes have a strong history of producing NFL-ready talent, and that resonated with the 6-foot-4, 270-pound standout.

"Position development and playing at the highest level, I saw it all. They're putting kids in the first round. I saw a very small amount of negatives in making this decision, if any, in my eyes," he said.

After his spring visit, Ayangbile couldn't stop praising his connection with Coach Lewis, who wasted no time showing his commitment. Lewis made a trip to Houston to visit Ayangbile in-home, reinforcing that the young lineman already embodies the Hurricane spirit.

"Coach Lewis went in-home with me and recently came down to talk to me. He told me that I play like a Hurricane, I move like a Hurricane, I act like a Hurricane," Ayangbile recalled. "That's an excellent group of players and coaches. I love the way they've embraced me and how Coach Cristobal texts me every day. They're chasing greatness, and it's awesome."

With this commitment, Miami adds a powerful force to its defensive front that promises to make an immediate impact. For fans looking to rep the next generation of Hurricane greats, the future is looking bright in Coral Gables.
