The Miami Hurricanes have flipped five-star cornerback Donte Wright from the Georgia Bulldogs. He is their third five-star commitment.

In a major recruiting victory for the Miami Hurricanes, head coach Mario Cristobal has secured a commitment from five-star cornerback Donte Wright, flipping him from the Georgia Bulldogs. The Long Beach, California native announced his decision on social media Saturday, marking one of the biggest recruiting flips of the year.

Wright had been committed to Georgia since June 2025, but he kept his options open throughout the process. Programs like Oregon, UCLA, and Michigan continued to pursue him, but it was Miami that made the biggest impression after his first visit to campus in March. That trip gave the Hurricanes the momentum they needed to seal the deal.

Ranked as the No. 9 overall player and No. 2 cornerback in the 247Sports composite, Wright is also the top prospect from California. At 6-foot-1 and 170 pounds, he brings elite athleticism and ball skills to Miami's secondary, immediately becoming the highest-rated commit in their class.

Wright joins an already impressive group of five-star pledges for the Hurricanes, including wide receiver Nick Lennear and quarterback Israel Abrams. Together, they form the backbone of a recruiting class that currently ranks 10th nationally and first in the ACC, according to 247Sports. With an average player rating of 90.91, Miami also boasts the sixth-best average in the country.

For Hurricanes fans, this is more than just a win on the recruiting trail—it's a statement. Cristobal continues to build a roster capable of competing with the nation's elite, and Wright's addition signals that Miami is ready to reclaim its place among college football's powerhouses.
