Mason Reiger’s draft weekend ended without a call, but it didn’t take long for the former Wisconsin outside linebacker to land his first pro opportunity. Reiger signed an undrafted free-agent deal with the Miami Dolphins after the draft concluded, giving him a path to compete for a roster spot and bring his edge-rushing skill set to an NFL depth chart.

NFL insider Jordan Schultz first reported the agreement. Reiger entered the draft after building his reputation as a pass-rusher in Madison, projecting as an outside linebacker and edge defender at the next level. His post-draft signing placed him in a common spot for Wisconsin defenders who have carved out NFL chances by earning their way through rookie camps, preseason reps, and special-teams roles.

The Dolphins added Reiger after he boosted his profile during the all-star circuit, where he earned Shrine Bowl MVP honors. That recognition gave him a late pre-draft spotlight and reinforced the traits that make him an intriguing developmental edge player for Miami: off-ball energy, disruptive potential, and a willingness to do the dirty work that often keeps undrafted players alive through camp.

Reiger’s next step comes quickly. Miami’s offseason program will give him his first chance to prove he belongs, with the rookie minicamp and training camp looming as the proving grounds for a Badgers defender trying to turn an undrafted deal into a roster spot.
