MIAMI GARDENS — The Miami Dolphins have a promising young lineman in rookie Kadyn Proctor, and his first taste of NFL action left him beaming. After wrapping up his initial minicamp practice, the former Alabama standout couldn't hide his excitement.
"Oh, man. I loved it," Proctor said, reflecting on suiting up as a pro for the first time. "I'm not going to lie. I'm overly happy. I had a good day. I had some good preparation. It's hot out here, but I hydrated pretty well, so I feel really good. Heart wasn't beating too fast, so that's definitely a good sign of getting acclimated to it. But I feel so good, honestly, especially in my number, man. Got my number, too."
That number—No. 74—is a familiar one for Proctor, who wore it during his college days at Alabama. And while his long-term future in the NFL likely lies at tackle, the Dolphins have a more immediate plan in mind: starting him off at left guard. It's a strategic move that taps into Proctor's versatility, a trait he's proud to showcase.
"I can play anywhere, you know, and it's first day of practice," Proctor explained. "You don't, I don't know where I'm going to play in September. So really just kind of coming in here, taking it day by day and doing whatever I'm asked to."
That flexibility is a huge asset for any rookie, especially on an offensive line that's always looking to build depth. Proctor's willingness to adapt—whether at guard now or tackle down the road—shows a maturity that Dolphins fans will love. And with his energy and preparation already earning praise, this rookie seems ready to make an impact wherever the team needs him.
