The Miami Dolphins entered Thursday night with two first-round picks, the 11th and the 30th selections. As they came on the clock for the first time on the night, they traded away the pick – though they did not move far, dropping one spot to the 12th position while adding two fifth-round picks from the Dallas Cowboys.
With the 12th pick, the Dolphins selected offensive tackle Kadyn Proctor from Alabama, providing Miami with a huge offensive lineman who can play with tackle or guard. Miami could look to start him inside early in his career, while he also serves as the backup to right tackle Austin Jackson, who has struggled with injuries. Or, they could flip that and move Jackson inside and start Proctor at right tackle.
The Dolphins then came back and made a second first-round trade, this time moving up three spots from 30th to 27th. With that selection, they added San Diego State cornerback Chris Johnson. The addition gives Miami an immediate starter at a position of massive need.
What do you think of the Dolphins’ first two picks of the 2026 Draft? Will it be enough to make a difference in the team’s chances of success this year, where FanDuel still lists the team as +3000 to win the division, the longest odds in the AFC East? Vote below on the grades to let us know and head to the comments to discuss.
