Zach Thornton is making a serious case for a call-up to the big leagues. The 24-year-old Mets prospect delivered a masterful performance on Friday night, tossing six scoreless innings while striking out nine batters for Triple-A Syracuse.

Since his promotion from Double-A Binghamton on May 6, Thornton has looked right at home against tougher competition. The left-handed pitcher, ranked as the No. 13 overall prospect in the Mets' system, allowed just three hits and one walk in his latest outing, helping Syracuse cruise to an 8-2 victory over Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

What makes Thornton's rise so exciting is his command on the mound. In his first Triple-A start, he allowed three earned runs over six innings, but Friday's performance showed he's already adjusting to the higher level. With an ability to eat innings and limit damage, he's proving to be a reliable arm in the Mets' farm system.

The game also featured other top Mets prospects making an impact. Outfielder Nick Morabito (No. 11 overall) led off and went 3-for-5 with an RBI, while slugger Ryan Clifford (No. 6 overall) struggled, going 0-for-5. For Mets fans, nights like these offer a glimpse of a promising future—and maybe even a reason to grab some fresh gear to support the next wave of talent.
