Pitcher Brett Banks, the New York Mets’ 11th-round pick in the 2023 MLB Draft, has voluntarily retired according to his official transactions page.

Banks, 24, had not allowed a run over his first three games of the 2026 season pitching for the Brooklyn Cyclones, the Mets’ affiliate in the Class-A South Atlantic League.

The right-hander from UNC Wilmington appeared in 53 professional games in the Mets’ system from 2023-26, going 7-1 with a 2.47 ERA.

Banks split the 2025 season between Brooklyn and St. Lucie of the Class-A Florida State League. He posted a 2.49 ERA and 26 strikeouts, while allowing 11 walks and a .200 opponents’ batting average in 25.1 innings after his promotion to the Cyclones.
