Memphis basketball coach Penny Hardaway — in hopes of reinforcing a currently thin frontcourt — has picked up a commitment from FAU big Maxim Logue.

Memphis basketball is making moves to shore up its frontcourt depth, and the latest addition comes in the form of a talented big man with a winding recruitment story.

According to multiple sources who spoke with The Commercial Appeal on May 12, Tigers head coach Penny Hardaway has secured a commitment from FAU transfer Maxim Logue. The sources requested anonymity as the university has not yet made an official announcement.

Standing at 6-foot-9 and weighing 230 pounds, the junior from Lyon, France, brings a physical presence that Memphis desperately needs. Logue was originally headed to North Carolina, but had to pivot after reportedly facing academic hurdles that derailed that path.

Now, he's set to join a Tigers squad that has been noticeably thin in the paint. Currently, Corneilous Williams (6-9, 220) is the only true center on the roster, with William Whorton serving as the sole other traditional post player. Logue's arrival couldn't come at a better time for a team looking to compete at a high level in the American Athletic Conference and beyond.

This pickup signals Hardaway's commitment to building a balanced roster capable of making noise both in conference play and on the national stage. With Logue's size and experience, he could be the key piece that helps solidify Memphis's interior defense and rebounding for the upcoming season.
