In a move that has Eau Claire buzzing, Memorial High School standout Norah Kling has officially announced her college basketball plans. The dynamic sophomore took to social media Sunday afternoon to share her commitment to UW-Green Bay, choosing to continue her athletic career at the NCAA Division I level.
"Committed!!!! Thank you to everyone who has helped me get to this point! And thank you coach Kayla and the Green Bay coaching staff for believing in me!" Kling posted on X (formerly Twitter), sending a wave of excitement through the local sports community.
Kling is no stranger to the spotlight. A versatile 5-foot-10 guard, she has been a two-year starter for the Old Abes and already held three Division I basketball offers before her sophomore season even began. Her impact was immediate, helping lead Memorial to the sectional finals as a freshman.
What makes Kling's story even more impressive is her resilience. Her sophomore basketball season was cut short in early February after she suffered a torn ACL and meniscus in her left knee. Despite the setback, she still earned all-conference and honorable mention all-state honors this past season. Now facing a 9-12 month recovery, she's targeting a return to the court by December.
But basketball isn't her only sport. Kling is also an all-state soccer player and a key member of Memorial's volleyball team, showcasing the kind of multi-sport athleticism that college coaches love. Her commitment to UW-Green Bay adds another chapter to what promises to be an inspiring comeback story.
