The 2026 Tennessee high school wrestling season came to a thrilling close in February, as over four dozen individual state champions were crowned across 14 weight classes in Class A, AA, Division II, and girls competition. Now, the Tennessee Sports Writers Association has unveiled its all-state teams, honoring the top boys and girls wrestlers from across the state. From seasoned seniors to rising eighth-grade stars, these athletes have left their mark on the mat.

In the lightest weight class, the 106-pound division showcased a mix of experience and youth. Germain Velasquez of Seymour led the pack as a senior, joined by sophomore Phillip Steelman of Signal Mountain, freshman Wesley Sudderth of Montgomery Central, and senior Jaime Sanginez of Springfield. The competition only intensified at 113 pounds, where senior Nate Graham of Station Camp, junior Luke Myhan of Soddy-Daisy, freshman CJ Weaver of Tullahoma, and senior Luke Higdon of Signal Mountain proved their mettle.

The 120-pound weight class featured a strong sophomore showing from Jacob Stinnett of Upperman, alongside seniors Jay Hill of Station Camp and Harold Ward of Greenbrier, plus junior Carter Hostetler of Spring Hill. At 126 pounds, Signal Mountain’s Ian McCallie turned heads as an eighth-grader, competing alongside seniors Kyle Nielsen of Spring Hill and Matthew Pennington of Eagleville, and sophomore Brylan Rhodes of Greeneville. The 132-pound bracket saw senior JoJo Uhorchuk of Signal Mountain and Tyson Flavin of Soddy-Daisy square off with sophomore Tristen Fowler of Alcoa and junior Kiivon Butler of Tullahoma.

One of the most memorable moments came from Nolensville’s Brodie Melzoni, who battled Knox Halls’ Barrett Whaley in a gripping Division I state championship match. After securing the win, Melzoni shared an emotional embrace with his father and coach, Johnnie Melzoni—a scene that captured the heart of Tennessee wrestling. These all-state selections represent the best of the best, and we can’t wait to see how they continue to elevate the sport in the seasons ahead.
