Track & Field
One senior delivered a stunning performance at the Dream Mile on May 1 at St. Xavier, crossing the finish line in 4 minutes, 11.81 seconds to take second place. That time puts him among the elite distance runners in the state this season.
Baseball
On the diamond, a senior pitcher was nearly untouchable, tossing a one-hitter with six strikeouts over seven innings to lead his team to a 2-0 victory over Bullitt East on April 30. Another senior slugger went 3 for 4 with a home run and five RBIs in an 18-8 win at North Laurel on May 1, showing off both power and consistency at the plate.
A third senior hurler fired a three-hitter with seven strikeouts in a 9-0 shutout of Shelby County on April 28, while a fourth senior delivered a masterpiece: a six-inning no-hitter with eight strikeouts in a 10-0 win over Floyd Central (Indiana) on April 29. He also contributed at the plate, going 2 for 3 with a double and two RBIs.
These performances highlight the depth of talent in Louisville-area high school sports. Who gets your vote?
