Max Holloway would welcome another crack at Conor McGregor inside the UFC's Octagon.

Max Holloway is ready to run it back with Conor McGregor, and he's not shy about it. The former UFC featherweight champion has openly expressed his desire to step into the Octagon with "The Notorious" once again, calling it a dream matchup that carries both personal and professional weight.

Holloway, who recently suffered a tough loss to Charles Oliveira for the "BMF" title, remains one of the sport's biggest draws. And he knows that a fight with McGregor would be nothing short of massive. "Anything with Conor McGregor is huge," Holloway said in an interview with Paramount. "But having history with the dude, being able to get one back would be cool. We have history. We fought a very long time ago."

That history dates back to 2013, when a young Holloway faced McGregor in Boston on a card headlined by Mauricio "Shogun" Rua and Chael Sonnen. McGregor walked away with a decision win that night, but Holloway was just making his 10th professional appearance. Since then, the Hawaiian has evolved into a legend of the sport.

After that loss, Holloway went on an incredible run, not tasting defeat again until 2019. He captured the interim featherweight championship, unified the belts by finishing Jose Aldo, and defended the title twice before a setback against Dustin Poirier. Holloway has since fought for the featherweight title and claimed the BMF belt, including a revenge win over Poirier in July 2025.

McGregor, meanwhile, hasn't competed since a July 2021 loss to Poirier, where he suffered an injury. His last official win came in January 2020, when he stopped Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone. With McGregor's return looming, Holloway sees a golden opportunity to settle an old score. "I've got to get my get backs on one of the guys," he said. "If I can keep knocking down the list, that would be great."

For fans, a rematch between these two icons would be nothing short of electric. And for Holloway, it's a chance to write a new chapter in a rivalry that's been simmering for over a decade.
