Former Arsenal defender Konstantinos Mavropanos has fired a warning shot to his old club ahead of Sunday's Premier League clash at the London Stadium, insisting West Ham will "go for it" against the title-chasing Gunners.

The 28-year-old center-back, who left Arsenal permanently in 2023, has already played a pivotal role in this season's title race—scoring the equalizer and making 21 defensive contributions as West Ham took points off Manchester City in a crucial 1-1 draw. That result gave Arsenal a lifeline, and now Mavropanos is ready to face his former teammates directly.

Arsenal travel to east London knowing a win would leave them just two games away from a first Premier League title in 22 years. But West Ham are fighting their own battle—scrambling for points to stay in the top flight—and Mavropanos says that desperation only adds fire to the fixture.

"It's a big game but I think we are as hungry as they are, obviously for different things," Mavropanos said. "It's a game that we have to go for it. We have to make sure that we are going to be ready and we will go for it because that's the only option."

The Greek international, who also scored in West Ham's 2-0 win over Arsenal at the Emirates in December 2023, emphasized the importance of home support in a match where both sides need points for very different reasons. "It's really important that we play two games at home because we need our fans and their energy in these moments to push us," he added.

Mikel Arteta, who managed Mavropanos briefly after arriving at Arsenal, acknowledged the defender's growth ahead of the reunion. "Very, very good character," Arteta said. "A player that was signed just before I arrived, and he had a long-term injury and didn't get that many minutes. But it's good to see him doing really well."

With the London Stadium set to be rocking, this isn't just another London derby—it's a clash of ambitions, and Mavropanos has made it clear: West Ham won't be backing down.
