Matt Fitzpatrick is riding the hottest streak of his career, having racked up three PGA Tour wins this season alone. After a strong runner-up finish at The Players Championship, the Englishman went on a tear—winning the Valspar Championship, the RBC Heritage, and teaming up with his brother Alex to claim the Zurich Classic. Now, with the PGA Championship on the horizon, Fitzpatrick has his sights set on adding another major to his trophy case.

Fitzpatrick already knows what it takes to win a major, having captured the US Open in 2022. Since then, he's notched three more top-10 finishes in golf's biggest events but hasn't quite been in contention for a victory. As he prepares for the PGA Championship at Aronimink, Fitzpatrick revealed which major he believes suits his game best—and it might surprise you.

Despite being a US Open champion, Fitzpatrick doesn't think that's his best shot at a second major. Instead, he believes Augusta National—home of the Masters—is where he's most likely to triumph. "I do feel like the Masters does suit me," Fitzpatrick said ahead of the PGA Championship. "I don't feel like I've ever had my best stuff there. I felt like this year I played solid tee-to-green and made zero putts. And I remember specifically, I think I led putting in 2019 and hit it terribly. So I do feel like I have something there for sure."

Fitzpatrick acknowledged that his Masters record doesn't exactly inspire confidence—he's never won a Green Jacket—but he's convinced the course sets up well for his game. He broke down his chances at each major: "PGA is probably, I would say, maybe a little bit harder for me. I think maybe it depends on the course setup. U.S. Open, obviously, I love. I think The Open, being able to control your ball flight, I feel like I can do that pretty well. I would probably say that the Masters, I feel like, suits me the most. I just don't feel like I've shown that yet."

It's a common sentiment among top players—the Masters, with its familiar layout year after year, often feels like the most conquerable major. But for Fitzpatrick, it's about finally putting it all together at Augusta. With his current form and a proven major-winning pedigree, don't be surprised if he makes a serious run at that Green Jacket soon.
