AUGUSTA, Ga. — Sometimes, the pressure of a Masters debut can lead to some drastic decisions. For Harry Hall, it only took one round at Augusta National to reach that point.

The 28-year-old Brit, a PGA Tour winner making his first appearance at the year's first major, opened with a five-over-par 77 on Thursday. While ten players failed to break 80 on a firm and fast day, Hall was far from satisfied. His immediate solution? A complete equipment overhaul before Friday's second round.

Most notably, Hall plans to channel his inner Phil Mickelson by putting two different drivers in his bag. "I'm going to change my driver," Hall revealed. "I'm going to put two drivers in play tomorrow, different ones." He explained his current fade-biased driver was costing him crucial distance, forcing him to play less aggressively on Augusta's demanding fairways.

The changes don't stop at the tee box. Hall also intends to bench his putter after a tough day on the greens and is re-evaluating his entire approach. "I'm putting a new putter in play," he stated, adding concerns about his iron spin. "I can't stop it on a dime like I need to... I probably need to add loft to my irons or do something to compete in these majors."

It's a bold strategy, especially at a course where familiarity is king. While his opening round stats showed he only lost a fraction of a shot off the tee, Hall's post-round comments reveal a player searching for any edge to tame Augusta. His second-round performance will be a fascinating test of whether more clubs—and more options—can lead to a better score.
