PLATTSBURGH — It was a game the Hornets will want to forget about.
Massena bullied Plattsburgh in a 15-8 victory for the Raiders.
“Tough loss tonight. We came out flat, got ourselves in a hole and never really recovered,” PHS head coach Shannon Brown said. “To their credit, Massena kind of pushed us around tonight. Hopefully this game can be our wake-up call that helps us decide if we’re going to allow that to happen again. If not for the amazing effort of our goalie, Fi Conners, the score could’ve been much different.”
Conners played masterfully, making 34 saves, but it wasn’t enough as Plattsburgh scored but couldn’t get out of the hole they dug themselves in.
Lilly Forrence led the Hornets with four goals scored with Lizzy Burnham scoring two and having three assists. Avery Berman and Marin Juneau added a goal and assist each.
Massena was led by Joie-Lynn Jabaut’s five goals and two assists. Jordyn Jabaut added four goals.
“Our offense can be really effective when it’s clicking. We just couldn’t sustain any momentum tonight,” Brown said. “Lily Forrence continued her hot start for us, and Lizzy Burnham gave us a very gutsy all-around performance from the midfield.”
