Denver Broncos wide receiver Marvin Mims is heading into a pivotal 2026 season—the fourth and final year of his rookie contract. And he's not sugarcoating the reality of the situation.
Speaking after a community event at Kaiser Elementary School, where he handed out shoes in partnership with UnitedHealthcare of Colorado, Mims opened up about the uncertainty surrounding his future with the team. "It's weird," he admitted, when asked about entering a contract year. He confirmed he hasn't personally discussed an extension with the Broncos, though he acknowledged his agent may be handling those conversations behind the scenes.
Mims, a two-time Pro Bowler and two-time All-Pro as a returner, has seen firsthand how quickly things can change in the NFL. "Being here for three years, going into Year 4, I feel like I've been here, I've seen a lot of guys leave, in-and-out the door," he said. "Been around great vets, been around Russell Wilson and Justin Simmons, so I've seen how quickly this franchise can change, how quickly the business can happen."
The wideout is taking a grounded approach to the uncertainty. Instead of worrying about what comes next, Mims says he's focused on "being where his feet are," being a good teammate, and contributing however he can in 2026. Whether that leads to a long-term future in Denver or a new chapter elsewhere remains to be seen—but for now, Mims is all in on the season ahead.
