Manchester United Women are at a critical crossroads. As they prepare to host Brighton & Hove Albion at the Progress with Unity Stadium this Saturday, their once-promising Champions League dreams are slipping through their fingers. Sitting four points behind Chelsea in second place, Marc Skinner's squad needs a miracle—hoping the Blues stumble against Leicester City before the season's final showdown between the two giants.

Ahead of the Brighton clash, Skinner didn't hold back. He opened with a heartfelt tribute to Leah Galton, whose summer departure was announced earlier this week. "She deserves to be honored," Skinner said. "I've worked with many top wingers, but never anyone like Leah. Her ability to beat defenders and her pace are incredible. She's left a real legacy here, and she'll always be welcome back with her family."

Skinner also gave credit where it's due, acknowledging Brighton's recent grit against powerhouses like Manchester City and Arsenal. "We have to attack and put Brighton on the back foot," he emphasized. "If we do that, we can win. But they've grown a lot, and I'm sure they're pleased with their progress."

On the injury front, there's good news: Ella Toone is back in action, and the squad is nearly at full strength. "Everyone else is back, except Terry (Elisabeth Terland) and Dom (Dominique Janssen)," Skinner confirmed. "They're training on the field now, but it's probably too soon for this match. They could be involved against Chelsea." He also hinted that Galton might return to the first team on Saturday after training this week.

It's been a season of highs and lows for United. After a blistering start, the team has faded in the final two months, exiting all cup competitions and now facing the real possibility of missing out on the top-three finish needed for European football. With pressure mounting, Skinner was asked directly if he still believes he's the right person to lead the squad forward.
