Manchester United are making moves in the summer transfer market, and a new name has emerged in their midfield shortlist. According to renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Red Devils are currently in talks to sign Atalanta's Brazilian midfielder, Ederson.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano revealed: "Ederson is available. Manchester United are aware of that, but my understanding is that Manchester United are talking to his agents. Conversations are active between Man United and the agents."

Romano also confirmed the asking price: "Man United are aware of the price from Atalanta, €45m. This is the price tag." However, he cautioned that Ederson is just one of several options, noting that the club "could sign two or three midfielders based on opportunities" and has "at least five or six midfielders under consideration."

At 26, Ederson has been enjoying a solid campaign in Serie A, showcasing his versatility and work rate in the heart of Atalanta's midfield. With 40 appearances across all competitions this season, he has contributed three goals and two assists, proving his ability to influence games at both ends of the pitch.

Known for his tough-tackling style and sharp defensive instincts, Ederson excels at breaking up opposition play and regaining possession for his team. He's not afraid to clear the lines under pressure, and his long-range shooting ability adds an extra dimension to his game. The Brazilian is primarily a box-to-box midfielder but can also slot in as a defensive or attacking midfielder when needed, offering tactical flexibility for any manager.

With his current contract at Atalanta running until the summer of 2027, a move won't come cheap. But for a Manchester United side looking to strengthen their engine room, Ederson's blend of energy, tenacity, and technical skill could be exactly what they need. The big question remains: will Michael Carrick and the coaching staff give the green light to this potential signing? Only time will tell if Ederson becomes the next midfield maestro at Old Trafford.
