Manchester City have reportedly placed Egyptian striker Omar Marmoush on the transfer list, with Barcelona among the clubs circling for his signature this summer.

The 25-year-old has found himself firmly in the shadow of Erling Haaland since arriving at the Etihad. Pep Guardiola sees Marmoush primarily as a central striker rather than a winger or support forward, which has limited his opportunities. Despite making 34 appearances across all competitions this season—interrupted by a knee injury and Egypt's AFCON campaign—he has managed a respectable 8 goals and 3 assists.

There's no question Marmoush has the quality to lead the line for a top European side. But with Haaland cementing his place as City's main man, that path remains blocked in Manchester.

According to journalist Mark Brus, writing in his exclusive Daily Briefing column, City are now open to selling Marmoush—but only if the right offer lands on their doorstep. The Premier League champions have set an asking price between €60-65 million for the Egyptian international.

Barcelona lead the chase as they prepare for life after Robert Lewandowski. The La Liga champions are monitoring the situation closely but want to gauge Marmoush's willingness to move before making a formal approach.

Interestingly, Marmoush isn't actively pushing for an exit this summer. However, the desire for more regular game time is clearly on his mind. Aston Villa and Tottenham have also shown interest in the past, though it's unclear whether they'll reignite that pursuit in the coming months.

For now, Marmoush remains an important squad player at City—the ideal backup for Haaland with his sharp finishing and natural goal-scoring instinct. But as the summer window approaches, his future hangs in the balance.
