Manchester United's academy continues to shine this season, and the next chapter of their success story is set to unfold on Friday night. The under-21s have booked their spot in the Premier League 2 play-off semi-finals after a commanding 2-0 victory over Crystal Palace, setting up a thrilling all-Manchester clash with their city rivals.

The young Red Devils have been in impressive form throughout the campaign, finishing second in the league standings—three points and one place ahead of Manchester City. Their path to the semi-finals included a hard-fought 3-2 win over Sunderland before dispatching Palace with ease. Now, they face their toughest test yet: a derby showdown with a place in the final on the line.

The match is scheduled for Friday, May 8th, with kick-off at 19:00 BST. It will be held at the Joie Stadium, the same venue that will host the FA Youth Cup final between the two clubs' under-18 sides. Fans can catch all the action live on MUTV.

This season has been a landmark one for United's academy. The under-18s have impressed as well, finishing runners-up in the Premier League Cup and reaching the FA Youth Cup final, where they'll also face Manchester City. Meanwhile, several young stars have made their full debuts for the senior team, including Jack and Tyler Fletcher, Shea Lacey, and Bendito Mantato. The emergence of talents like JJ Gabriel, Jim Thwaites, and Noah Ajayi has added even more depth to an already promising pipeline.

In the other semi-final, Tottenham Hotspur will take on Brighton & Hove Albion. But for United fans, all eyes will be on Friday night's derby—a chance for the next generation to write their own chapter in this historic rivalry.
