Manchester United's Benjamin Sesko is quietly putting together a season to remember, and one statistic proves he's in a league of his own right now.

The 22-year-old Slovenian striker, who joined from RB Leipzig last summer, initially struggled to find his footing at Old Trafford. Before the new year, he had managed just two goals in 15 appearances—a slow start that had some fans questioning the move.

But everything changed when Michael Carrick stepped in as Ruben Amorim's temporary replacement. Since then, Sesko has been a different player entirely. He's scored seven times under Carrick, including some crucial goals that have kept United's season on track.

His latest strike came in Sunday's thrilling 3-2 win over bitter rivals Liverpool. It was a classic poacher's goal: Bruno Fernandes' header was parried by Freddie Woodman, and Sesko was there to bundle it home from close range. The kind of goal that separates instinctive finishers from the rest.

Now, Statman Dave has uncovered a remarkable stat that puts Sesko's form into perspective. Since the start of 2024, the forward has scored a Premier League goal every 86 minutes. That's the best return rate of any player with at least five goals in the competition—no one else comes close.

At just 22, Sesko is silencing his doubters and showing he has plenty of room to grow. His next test comes Saturday when United travel to Sunderland, with Champions League football already secured for next season.

But with Joshua Zirkzee's future uncertain—the Dutchman is linked with a return to Serie A amid limited playing time—United may need to bring in another striker this summer to ensure Sesko isn't carrying the goal-scoring burden alone. For now, though, he's proving he can handle the spotlight.
