Wayne Rooney says Manchester City have the psychological edge over leaders Arsenal in the Premier League title race.

The Premier League title race is heating up, and according to Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney, the psychological advantage lies with the reigning champions. Speaking on *The Wayne Rooney Show*, Rooney argued that despite Arsenal's current lead, Manchester City's proven pedigree gives them a crucial mental edge as the season reaches its climax.

Rooney pointed directly to City's experience, stating they "know how to win the title" and possess a manager in Pep Guardiola who has masterminded six Premier League triumphs. This know-how, he believes, allows City to stay calmer under pressure compared to an Arsenal squad chasing their first league crown in nearly two decades. "That negative mindset really has an impact on your performance," Rooney cautioned, highlighting how a recent stumble for the Gunners could play on their minds.

The stage is set for a monumental clash this Sunday at the Etihad Stadium, a match Rooney labels a potential "title decider." He suggests that while a win for either side would make them firm favorites, a draw might actually represent "a good point" for the visiting Arsenal. To get it, Rooney believes Mikel Arteta's men may need to "play dirty," prioritizing defensive resilience and hitting on the counter-attack. "They have to do anything to stop City winning," he emphasized, underscoring the tactical battle ahead.

Shifting focus to North London, Rooney also weighed in on Tottenham Hotspur's concerning form, which has seen them slip into the relegation zone. He described their performance as "a bit flat," lacking the aggressive, front-footed response often expected with a new manager like Roberto De Zerbi at the helm. For Spurs to climb the table, Rooney concluded that De Zerbi "needs to find some answers quickly" to instill a new identity and spark a turnaround.
