A 35-year-old man has been released on conditional bail after an alleged on-pitch assault during an amateur football match in North Wales. The incident occurred during an Ardal North West League fixture between Trearddur Bay and Porthmadog on January 17th.

Footage of the altercation, which took place at Trearddur Bay's Y Traeth stadium, has been widely shared on social media, prompting a police investigation. North Wales Police have arrested a man on suspicion of assault and are appealing for witnesses, specifically the individual who filmed the video, to come forward to aid their case.

In a swift response, Trearddur Bay FC issued an apology and, following an emergency committee meeting, released the player involved, confirmed as Tom Taylor. The club has pledged full cooperation with all external investigations.

The Football Association of Wales (FAW) has also stepped in, imposing an interim suspension on Taylor from all football-related activity pending the outcome of its own investigation. Meanwhile, Porthmadog FC reported that their player, Danny Brookwell, is recovering at home after suffering a concussion in the incident.
