Major Update on Blake Monroe’s SmackDown Debut Timeline

Blake Monroe’s highly anticipated WWE SmackDown debut is inching closer, and fans can already feel the excitement building. According to PWInsider, WWE’s internal plans currently target late May for the star to start appearing on the blue brand—though, as with any wrestling timeline, that schedule could shift.

The groundwork for her arrival has already been laid. Vignettes teasing Monroe’s debut have aired on SmackDown, but she has yet to step foot in the ring on the main roster. That moment, however, seems to be just around the corner.

Monroe—whose real name is Mariah May Mead—was confirmed as a SmackDown call-up earlier this month after a standout run in NXT. She captured the NXT Women’s North American Championship before losing it to Tatum Paxley in a dramatic casket match, setting the stage for her promotion to the big leagues.

Her journey to WWE is nothing short of remarkable. Monroe spent years honing her craft on the independent circuit in the United Kingdom before heading to Japan to compete in World Wonder Ring Stardom, where she won the Goddesses of Stardom Championship alongside Mina Shirakawa. She later signed with AEW in 2023, claimed the AEW Women’s World Championship, and eventually made the leap to WWE in June 2025.

Already, the wrestling world is buzzing about her potential. WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry has been especially vocal in his praise, calling Monroe a complete package with no weaknesses. He highlighted her ability to flip and fly, grapple, chain wrestle, and strike—a rare combination that has fans and insiders alike eagerly awaiting her debut.

With the SmackDown women’s division in need of fresh talent—both at the top of the card and in the mid-card—Monroe seems perfectly positioned to make an immediate impact. Whether she challenges for the Women’s Title or sets her sights on the United States Championship, her arrival promises to shake things up.

For now, with vignettes already airing and a May timeline in play, it’s not a question of if Blake Monroe will debut on SmackDown, but when. And when she does, the blue brand better be ready.
