The UFC light heavyweight division has a new king, and a former champion is making sure everyone knows the old contender's time is up. Following Jiri Prochazka's stunning first-round knockout loss to Carlos Ulberg for the vacant title at UFC 327, Magomed Ankalaev launched a verbal assault, declaring Prochazka should be removed from the championship conversation for good.
Ankalaev, who lost his own belt to Alex Pereira last year, didn't hold back on social media. He pointed to Prochazka's recent record, highlighting that "BJP" has now been knocked out in three of his last six octagon appearances. "I don’t wanna hear his name anymore in the title picture. Enough is enough," Ankalaev stated, dismissing Prochazka's post-fight explanation that he showed Ulberg mercy after an early knee injury.
Ankalaev wasn't buying that narrative, calling Prochazka "fake" and asserting, "He kept kicking Carlos's legs. He did not show him any mercy." The Dagestani contender's critique was relentless, culminating in a direct challenge. He taunted Prochazka, writing, "Let’s fight next. I dare you to call me out," and boldly claimed, "None of these guys are my level."
This fiery callout sets the stage for a potential explosive clash between two of the division's most powerful strikers. With Ulberg now holding the gold, Ankalaev is clearly looking to make a definitive statement by taking out a former champion and cementing his own case for the next shot at the title.
