From youth mats to the state podium, Madison High School seniors Chase White and Jordan McCullough have shared every step of their wrestling journey. Now, the longtime teammates are ensuring their story has another chapter, as both have committed to continue their academic and athletic careers together at Baldwin Wallace University.

The decision feels like a natural progression for the duo. White, who placed fourth at 215 pounds in the Division II state tournament, saw college wrestling as the perfect next challenge. "Why not?" White said. "Wrestling is my favorite sport, so why not take it to the college level, go to college, get a degree and continue to wrestle?" The chance to do it alongside his best friend made the choice even better, with the potential to room together adding to the excitement.

For McCullough, an eighth-place finisher at 113 pounds, the path to BW wasn't as immediately clear. However, a campus visit to the Berea-based Division III program was a game-changer. Connecting with the team solidified his decision. "Meeting the team helped a lot, seeing that they meshed with our vibe," McCullough explained. Once White committed, it sealed the deal. "It’s really cool. I’m excited about it, our parents are excited about it."

Beyond their partnership, both wrestlers are energized by joining a consistently strong Yellow Jackets program under Coach Jamie Gibbs, whom White calls "one of the best D-III coaches around." Their high school coach, Andrew Tomaso, is thrilled to see them continue, noting BW's perennial national ranking and outstanding coaching.

As they transition from Blue Streaks to Yellow Jackets, White and McCullough are poised to tackle the collegiate mats with the same camaraderie that has defined their careers, proving that some of the best partnerships are forged in the heat of competition.
