The Bemidji Lumberjacks boys tennis team delivered a statement performance on Thursday, dominating their competition with a pair of flawless 7-0 victories over Moorhead and Sauk Rapids-Rice. Originally scheduled for Bemidji, the matches were relocated to Sauk Rapids due to weather, but the change of scenery did nothing to slow the Lumberjacks' momentum.
Bemidji's strength was on full display across the board, winning all 14 individual matches played. The singles lineup set a powerful tone, with Owen Lappinga, Josh Arel, and Blake Friese securing straight-set wins at the No. 1, 2, and 3 positions in both duals. Elihu Broten and Logan Berg also contributed commanding wins at the No. 4 spot.
The doubles teams completed the dominant team effort. The top pair of Peter Matthews and Chase Fairchild, along with the No. 2 duo of Ethan Frank and Paul Gifford, controlled their courts with authority. The depth of the squad shone through as well, with Broten teaming with Tobi Wessloh for a win and the pairing of Hudson Moussa and Logan Berg closing out the impressive day with a straight-set victory. It was a total team effort that showcased precision and resilience, the kind of performance built on fundamentals and strong partnerships.
