Luke Shaw's impressive run of form at Manchester United has earned him a timely boost in his pursuit of an England national team recall. The left-back has been an ever-present figure for the Red Devils this season, playing a crucial role in their return to Champions League football after a two-year absence.

Shaw has thrived under the guidance of Ruben Amorim and his temporary replacement, Michael Carrick, who took over at the start of the year. His appearance in the weekend's goalless draw with Sunderland marked his 36th start of the campaign—a remarkable feat for a player who has often struggled with injuries. In fact, Shaw has started every game this season and is on track to feature from the outset in all 38 matches for the first time in his career.

In a recent interview, Shaw opened up about how injuries have affected him, admitting that he often felt he was letting his teammates and fans down. But this season, he has stayed fit and consistently delivered strong performances, putting himself back in the spotlight.

Shaw was overlooked for England selection during the March international break, with Kobbie Mainoo and Harry Maguire earning call-ups instead. Thomas Tuchel, who named an enlarged 35-man squad to give playing time to fringe players while resting more established stars, admitted it was a "tough decision" to leave Shaw out.

Now, according to Mike McGrath of The Telegraph, Shaw is set to be included in England's provisional World Cup pool of players. Tuchel is expected to submit a list of up to 55 players to FIFA by today's deadline, and Shaw's strong finish to the season has thrown his hat firmly into the ring.

With the final squad announcement expected later this month, Shaw will be hoping his consistency and resilience pay off. For now, he can take pride in a season that has seen him overcome his injury woes and rediscover his best form—just in time for a potential World Cup spot.
