The message came after a frustrating postseason for the 26-year-old, who was sidelined with a Grade 2 hamstring injury suffered on April 2 against the Thunder. Despite hopes of a second-round return, his rehab never progressed enough for game action. Doncic watched from the bench as the Lakers managed just four playoff wins without their floor general.

"It's very frustrating. I know some people wanted me back," Doncic said after the game. "But obviously, I wasn't close to clearing. There was some stuff in the media that went out that wasn't true. If I could be out there, I would be 100%."

Before the injury, Doncic was putting together an MVP-caliber season, leading the league in scoring with 33.5 points per game while adding 8.3 assists, 7.7 rebounds, and 1.6 steals across 64 games.
