Luka Doncic sends a heartfelt message to Lakers fans after their season comes to an end against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Following a tough Game 4 loss that sealed the sweep, the Lakers superstar took to Instagram to share his gratitude and determination. "Proud of my teammates who played SO hard in these playoffs," Doncic wrote. "Laker Nation, we will be back 🔥"
The message came after a frustrating postseason for the 26-year-old, who was sidelined with a Grade 2 hamstring injury suffered on April 2 against the Thunder. Despite hopes of a second-round return, his rehab never progressed enough for game action. Doncic watched from the bench as the Lakers managed just four playoff wins without their floor general.
"It's very frustrating. I know some people wanted me back," Doncic said after the game. "But obviously, I wasn't close to clearing. There was some stuff in the media that went out that wasn't true. If I could be out there, I would be 100%."
Before the injury, Doncic was putting together an MVP-caliber season, leading the league in scoring with 33.5 points per game while adding 8.3 assists, 7.7 rebounds, and 1.6 steals across 64 games. The Lakers were on track for the No. 3 seed in the West before slipping to fourth, placing them on a collision course with the Thunder.
Now, with the offseason ahead, Laker Nation turns its focus to recovery and reloading—with their superstar sending a clear message: this is far from over.
