Luka Dončić brought some much-needed levity to the Lakers' practice court, playfully ribbing teammate Jarred Vanderbilt over his dislocated pinky finger. The moment of comic relief came as the team battles through the intensity of the Western Conference Semifinals.

The injury happened during Game 1 against the Oklahoma City Thunder, a tough 108-90 loss for Los Angeles. Vanderbilt went up to block a dunk from Thunder center Chet Holmgren, but his hand slammed into the backboard with such force that it dislocated his right pinky and broke the skin. Medical staff quickly reset the bone and applied a splint after the game.

In footage that quickly spread across social media, Dončić is seen pointing at Vanderbilt's splinted hand with a grin, teasing, "You can't do that."

Both players are currently on the sidelines. Vanderbilt's status is day-to-day as he manages the injury, while Dončić continues his own recovery from a Grade 2 left hamstring strain. Despite the setbacks, the team's spirit remains high.

LeBron James praised Vanderbilt's toughness after the incident. "He is tough as nails," James told ESPN. "If Vando was in pain, then something actually really happened."

Head coach JJ Redick called the injury a freak accident but expressed optimism about a quick return. "I had to go check on him because it just looked bad," Redick said postgame. "He was audibly screaming, and you knew he had done something. It's just a freak injury."

The lighthearted exchange between Dončić and Vanderbilt isn't their first. Last season, Vanderbilt jokingly commented on a photo of Dončić dunking, suggesting the image was computer-generated with a simple "2nd pic AI." Dončić fired back, dismissing Vanderbilt and the rest of the team in good fun.

For Lakers fans, these moments show that even in the heat of playoff battles, the bond between teammates remains strong. As both stars work their way back to full health, the team will need that camaraderie to fuel their push forward.
