Paris Saint-Germain are on the verge of a second straight Champions League final, holding a 5-4 aggregate lead over Bayern Munich heading into the decisive second leg. But the path to the final just got a lot steeper for the capital club.

Star right-back Achraf Hakimi has been officially ruled out after suffering a thigh injury in the first leg, leaving a massive void in PSG's defense. Widely considered one of the best in the world at his position, Hakimi's absence shifts the spotlight onto young Warren Zaïre-Emery—a player who will now be tasked with containing one of Europe's most in-form wingers.

That winger is Luis Díaz. The Colombian gave PSG fits in the first leg, using his pace and directness to stretch the defense and create chaos. And Zaïre-Emery knows exactly what he's up against.

"When you have a player with the quality to do everything, like the front three, it is always difficult to defend," Zaïre-Emery admitted to reporters on May 4. "We played a good defensive match, but we conceded four goals. When the attackers are at that level, there is no room for mistakes. Regarding Luis Díaz, I will do my best and I will have the help of my teammates as always."

That honesty speaks volumes. PSG may have the aggregate lead, but their defense was far from airtight in the first leg—conceding four goals against a Bayern side that thrives on pressure. If they want to book a potential final showdown with Arsenal, they'll need a much more disciplined performance.

For Zaïre-Emery, this is more than just a test of skill; it's a statement opportunity. Containing Díaz could be the difference between a trip to the final and another heartbreaking exit. And for PSG, there's simply no margin for error.
