LSU football fans, the future is looking bright in Baton Rouge. The Tigers have landed a massive commitment from five-star tight end Ahmad Hudson, a powerhouse prospect from Ruston, Louisiana, who is widely regarded as one of the top players in the 2027 class.

Standing at an imposing 6-foot-6.5 and weighing 239 pounds, Hudson is a matchup nightmare on the gridiron. According to 247Sports, he is ranked as the No. 11 overall player in the nation, the No. 1 tight end, and the No. 2 player in the state of Louisiana. He chose LSU over Nebraska, keeping one of the Bayou State's brightest stars close to home.

Hudson's athleticism extends beyond football. He's a multi-sport star at Ruston, excelling as one of the state's top basketball players, averaging a double-double in each of his three seasons on the court. That versatility translates directly to the football field, where he's proven to be a dynamic playmaker.

This past season, Hudson was one of the few underclassmen selected to play in the prestigious Navy All-American Bowl. He also turned heads in the Louisiana Division 1 Non-Select championship, earning MVP honors despite the loss after hauling in six catches for 169 yards and a touchdown.

Hudson's commitment is a major win for head coach Lane Kiffin and his staff. When Kiffin took over the program last November, expectations were sky-high given his reputation as a prolific recruiter. While the Tigers' 2027 class currently ranks No. 33 nationally with just five commitments, according to 247Sports, landing a talent like Hudson is a statement of intent.

He joins a promising group that includes top-20 defensive lineman Jaiden Bryant and four-star quarterback Peyton Houston. Three of the Tigers' five commitments are homegrown talents rated as four- or five-star prospects, signaling a strong focus on keeping Louisiana's best athletes in-state. For fans eager to see Kiffin make noise on the recruiting trail, this is exactly the kind of splash they've been waiting for.
