The Louisville Kings fell to 0-3 with a 29-27 loss in overtime to the Orlando Storm on Friday at Lynn Family Stadium.

Here are three takeaways from the United Football League game:

Distraught Kings fans threw trash on the field after the Storm were declared winners in overtime.

Starting at the 5-yard line, neither team crossed the goal line during overtime. But, because Louisville committed two live-ball defensive penalties during the untimed period, it cost Chris Redman's team two points.

Kings coach Chris Redman rotated starter Jason Bean and backup Chandler Rogers at quarterback throughout last weekend's 19-9 loss to the Storm at Inter&Co Stadium. The former completed only four of his 15 attempts for 49 yards; while the latter went 13 for 20 for 151 yards.

Friday night's rematch was all Bean. And he delivered his best performance of the season: 352 yards and three touchdowns on a 50% completion rate.

Mike Repole, who took over the UFL's business operations last July, attended his first Kings game at Lynn Family Stadium on Friday.

Speaking with The Courier Journal on Thursday, the billionaire entrepreneur had high hopes for the trip after an announced crowd of 14,034 showed up for the team's season-opening loss to the Birmingham Stallions on March 27.

Friday's turnout, 11,082, fell short of that impressive Week 1 showing. But the fans who withstood the pregame rain brought the noise all night — reinforcing Repole's belief that Louisville is right there with Columbus in terms of new UFL markets that have "separated themselves."

"We're here for the long term," Repole said Thursday. "I'm not just making an investment in the United Football League; I'm making a huge investment in the city of Louisville and the state of Kentucky."
