Indiana Fever superstar Caitlin Clark is notorious for her three-point shooting ability, holding several records at both the WNBA and collegiate levels for her performance from beyond the arc. Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark has built a legendary reputation as one of the most lethal three-point shooters in basketball history, shattering records at both the collegiate and professional levels. But right now, the sharpshooter is in the midst of a cold streak that has fans and analysts wondering—has she lost her superpower?

In Indiana’s season opener against the Dallas Wings on Saturday, Clark still managed 20 points, 7 assists, and 5 rebounds in a narrow 107-104 loss. But from beyond the arc, she connected on just 2 of 9 attempts. While she remained a dynamic playmaker, the deep ball simply wasn't falling.

Unfortunately, the story didn’t change in game two. On Wednesday night, the Fever traveled to Los Angeles to take on the Sparks. Indiana secured an 87-78 victory, but Clark missed her first six three-pointers before finally hitting her seventh—finishing just 1-for-7 from deep.

Through two games, Clark is shooting a staggering 3-for-16 from three-point range, a frigid 18.75%. And this slump isn’t new. Over her last nine games dating back to last season, she has hit just 10 of 65 attempts (15.38%) from beyond the arc.

For a player whose game is built around her ability to stretch the floor and drain shots from deep, this drought has been jarring—and the criticism is mounting.

Fans have taken to social media with harsh takes: “It pains me to say this, but Caitlin Clark has the yips. Not good,” one wrote. Another added, “Caitlin Clark’s 3 ball really died. It’s mental.” Some have even questioned her overall shooting ability, with comments like, “Since last season, Caitlin Clark isn’t a great shooter.”

For now, the Fever and their fans are hoping Clark can rediscover her rhythm and remind everyone why she’s one of the most dangerous scorers in the game. Because when she’s on, there’s no one better from long range.
