Exeter Chiefs legend Jack Yeandle isn't done yet. The club captain has signed a one-year contract extension, ensuring the 36-year-old will begin his 15th season at Sandy Park this autumn.

Yeandle is the club's longest-serving player, and his loyalty has been rewarded with a deal that will see him extend his remarkable tenure. The Exeter-born hooker first joined the Chiefs from Championship side Doncaster back in April 2012, and since then, he's racked up an incredible 325 appearances.

His impact on the pitch has been immense, helping the club secure two Premiership titles and the 2020 European Champions Cup. But for Yeandle, it's about more than just silverware. "Everyone knows how much this club means to me and the chance to continue making new memories at Sandy Park is one I'm really thankful for," he told the club website. "Leading this team, lifting trophies and making friendships for life has meant so much to me."

There's a bittersweet note to the extension, though. Yeandle will miss the rest of the current season after suffering a foot injury in the loss to Northampton last month—an injury that requires surgery. But he's already looking ahead to next season, eager to add to his legacy.

Director of rugby Rob Baxter is thrilled to have his "old warrior" back. "It's great to have him with us going forward," Baxter said. "The really pleasing thing, along with how well he's been playing on the field, is how much leadership he brings to the group. It was a very easy decision to keep him as he truly understands what we're about."

Baxter even sees a silver lining in the injury layoff. "While this injury is frustrating, it may actually extend his playing career because he can really focus on other elements of his physical conditioning. So, we're really looking forward to working with him for another year."

For fans of the Chiefs, this extension is a testament to the power of loyalty and hard work—qualities that define the best players on and off the pitch. Whether you're suiting up for a match or just hitting the gym, a little Yeandle-inspired determination goes a long way.
