Katherine Lockamy scored off a corner kick by Victoria Lockamy in the opening minutes of the match. Victoria Lockamy extended the lead later in the half when her corner kick deflected in off the defense.
Carmen DiFoggio made five saves in goal for the Grizzlies (11-2-2 overall, 4-1 conference), who completed their first run through conference play just one game behind unbeaten Mount Tabor.
HIGH POINT – Westchester Country Day won 3-1 against North Hills Christian in nonconference girls soccer Monday at Westchester.
Evans Elliott scored two goals for the Wildcats (4-7). Morgan Cargal also scored a goal off an assist by Lentel Dehouwer.
WINSTON-SALEM – Southwest Guilford narrowly lost 1-0 against state power RJ Reynolds in nonconference girls soccer Monday at Reynolds. The Cowgirls dipped to 7-6-1 overall.
HIGH POINT – High Point Christian lost 7-0 against Caldwell in PTAC girls soccer Monday at Correll-Morris Field. The Cougars moved to 2-11 overall and 1-7 in the conference.
THOMASVILLE – Trinity defeated East Davidson 2-0 in Central Carolina 3A Conference girls soccer Monday at Brown Middle.
The Bulldogs improved to 9-1-4 overall and 4-1-1 in the conference, while the Golden Eagles dipped to 7-7 and 1-5.
JAMESTOWN – Ragsdale rolled past Southern Guilford 9-0 in nonconference girls soccer Monday at Ragsdale.
Micah Moody scored four goals for the Tigers. Gabby Graham added three goals and an assist, while Bailey Glasgow had a goal and an assist. Holden Brewer scored one goal.
Jacquelyn Shaner added two assists, while Emerson Everhart, Peighton Hanson and Emma Hansen each had an assist. Mara Cothran and Marley Clark shared time in goal.
Ragsdale improved to 9-3 while the Storm dipped to 2-10-2.
THOMASVILLE – Wheatmore beat Thomasville 9-0 in Central Carolina 3A Conference girls soccer Monday at Thomasville.
Jocelyn McDowell scored four goals to lead the Warriors, while Hallie Myer added two and Alexis Holifield had a goal and an assist. Kayla Rosenbaum and Emmie Messner each had a goal. Abby Stepp and Nora Partin each had an assist. Kinsley Davis made two saves in goal.
Wheatmore improved to 9-5 overall and 6-0 in the conference, while the Bulldogs moved to 2-12-1 and 0-6.
HIGH POINT – TW Andrews lost 20-4 against Atkins in PAC Seven 4A/5A softball Monday at Montlieu Academy of Technology. The Lady Raiders moved to 0-9 overall and 0-7 in the conference.
ASHEBORO – High Point Christian raced past Uwharrie Charter 14-1 in five innings Monday in nonconference softball at Uwharrie.
Kerri Langfitt had three hits, including two doubles, and three RBIs for the Cougars (16-2). Allie Winfree, who doubled, and Blakely Bowman each had three hits and an RBI, while Hailey Allred had two hits, including a home run, and three RBIs. Chloe Overstreet and Landyn Smith each added a hit and two RBIs.
Paisley Dixon earned the pitching win, striking out two of three in one perfect inning. Bella Dill added two strikeouts while allowing just two hits and one walk in four innings.
