Liz Carmouche will have to wait longer – and win once more – if she wants to fight Dakota Ditcheva.
The PFL announced on Wednesday that Carmouche's next bout will come in the PFL San Diego co-main event on June 27 when she'll meet Viviane Araujo at Pechanga Arena. The card airs on ESPN2 and streams on the ESPN app.
Carmouche (25-8) will fight for the first time in 2026 after going 3-0 last year to win the PFL women's flyweight tournament. Last August, Carmouche told MMA Junkie about her desire to fight Ditcheva, the promotion's biggest star, who's been working her way back to form after having surgery on her hand.
For now, Carmouche gets Araujo (13-7), who was victorious in her promotional debut at PFL Chicago on April 11. Araujo defeated Shanna Young by unanimous decision. Prior to that, Araujo had alternated wins and losses in her final four UFC fights, with wins against Jennifer Maia and Karine Silva, and losses to Natalia Silva and Tracy Cortez.
