Liverpool FC has unveiled the design and details of a permanent memorial at Anfield, honoring Diogo Jota and his brother, Andre Silva. The two brothers tragically lost their lives in a car crash in northern Spain last July, sparking an outpouring of grief from across the football world.

In the days following the accident, thousands of fans left heartfelt tributes outside Anfield—flowers, scarves, shirts, and other mementos—all paying homage to the siblings. Now, the club has confirmed that a lasting tribute will take the form of a flowing heart sculpture, shaped to represent the numbers 20 and 30, the shirt numbers most closely associated with Diogo and Andre, respectively.

The memorial will also incorporate lyrics from the popular LFC supporters' chant dedicated to Jota, which continues to echo through the stands every 20th minute of each match played by Arne Slot's side. While an official unveiling date has yet to be announced, the sculpture will be located on 97 Avenue and will integrate many of the physical tributes left outside Anfield last summer.

As Liverpool aptly described in their announcement, the memorial will "serve as a permanent symbol of love, unity, and remembrance, and a place where everyone can reflect, remember, and pay their respects." For fans and players alike, the ongoing chant for Diogo during every home game is a poignant reminder of the affection he earned during his time with the club—and how deeply he is missed.

While recent on-field frustrations have tested the squad, the tragedy of July 3, 2025, puts everything into perspective. Diogo's teammates have had to navigate their grief throughout the season, and this sculpture at Anfield stands as a fitting, permanent tribute to two lives that touched so many.
