Liverpool are making moves in the transfer market, with reports suggesting they've set their sights on Juventus' Andrea Cambiaso as a potential solution to their left-back needs this summer. According to journalist Mirko Di Natale, the Reds are among several top European clubs tracking the versatile 26-year-old Italian, as they prepare for the likely departure of long-serving star Andy Robertson at season's end.

Cambiaso has been in scintillating form for Juventus this campaign, netting three goals and creating 10 big chances in 33 Serie A appearances. His attacking output includes an impressive 1.6 key passes per game, showcasing his ability to drive forward from the back. While his defensive game still has room for refinement, his experience playing in midfield and on either flank could prove invaluable for Liverpool manager Arne Slot, who values tactical flexibility.

If signed, Cambiaso would compete with Milos Kerkez for the starting left-back role—but that's where things get interesting. Kerkez, who has blossomed into one of the Premier League's most dynamic full-backs, didn't join Liverpool to be a benchwarmer. The Hungarian will expect regular starts and a clear path to becoming the club's first-choice left-back. Meanwhile, Cambiaso is already an established top-level player entering his prime, and he'll demand consistent minutes too.

This potential move creates an awkward balancing act for Liverpool. The club risks investing heavily in two left-backs who both believe they deserve to start every week—a recipe for tension in the dressing room. Some might argue Liverpool would be better served targeting a seasoned veteran who can mentor Kerkez while providing dependable cover, or a younger developmental talent willing to bide his time.

The competition for Cambiaso's signature is fierce. Inter Milan, Napoli, Manchester City (who pushed hard to sign him last summer without success), and Tottenham Hotspur are all circling. There's no doubt Cambiaso would elevate Liverpool's technical quality, but the club must carefully consider whether adding another ready-made starter alongside Kerkez would create unnecessary friction—or if it's a gamble worth taking for a player of his calibre.
