Liverpool's midfield is in need of a serious refresh, and the club may have already identified their next big signing. With almost every Premier League side hunting for midfield reinforcements this summer, the Reds will need to get creative to land their top targets.

While names like Adam Wharton and Elliott Anderson have been floated, competition for those English stars is expected to be fierce. That's where Liverpool's scouting creativity comes in—and according to journalist Bence Bocsak, Mamadou Sangare could be the perfect solution.

"Sangare is a high intensity player," Bocsak said on the Anfield Watch Podcast. "He is very good at making quick decisions on the ball, he does quick passes. He's a little bit similar to Alexis Mac Allister, but on top of that he's got that intensity and running ability that Liverpool have missed."

Signed by RC Lens for just €8 million (around £6.9 million) in the 2025-26 summer window, Sangare has quickly become one of the most intriguing midfield prospects in Europe. His playing style draws comparisons to Mac Allister, but with added energy and box-to-box dynamism—exactly what Liverpool's engine room has been lacking.

The best part? The price tag. Bocsak estimates Sangare could be available for between €40 million and €50 million, which translates to roughly £35 million. In today's market, that's a steal for a player with his potential and skill set.

Liverpool currently sit fourth in the Premier League table, a position that would normally secure Champions League football. But after winning the title just last season and spending over £400 million on new players in the summer, expectations were far higher. The club's midfield has struggled to find consistency, and a player like Sangare could provide the energy and creativity needed to get back on track.

For a side looking to rebuild without breaking the bank, Sangare represents the kind of smart, data-driven signing that could define Liverpool's next chapter. Whether he ends up wearing the famous red shirt remains to be seen, but one thing is clear: the search for midfield solutions is well underway.
