Liverpool's Premier League preparations have hit a potential snag, with manager Arne Slot revealing defensive duo Jeremie Frimpong and Joe Gomez are doubts for Saturday's clash with Fulham. The pair started the midweek Champions League defeat to PSG, and the quick turnaround appears to be a concern.

"Yesterday was a recovery day and let’s see where a few of our players are," Slot said in his pre-match press conference. "I’m not telling you for the first time that not all of our players are able and capable of playing three days after an intense game. Two of the players I’m of course worried about for tomorrow will be Jeremie Frimpong and Joe Gomez."

This potential absence could test Liverpool's defensive depth as they look to bounce back in the league. In more positive news, striker Alexander Isak is back in contention after making a substitute appearance against PSG, offering a welcome boost to the attack.

"That Alex is available for us again is vital of course," Slot emphasized. "He’s been a goalscorer his whole life. Hopefully we can progress his minutes and he can grow to his form as soon as possible."

However, the team will again be without goalkeeper Alisson, who continues his recovery. "Alisson is working hard to find his way back into the squad so that’s really positive, but he will not be in the squad this weekend yet," Slot confirmed.
