When Liam Coen set the bar high for a fast start to the Jacksonville Jaguars' offseason program back in late March, he knew exactly what he was asking for. Now, as the team hits mid-May and begins on-field workouts, the early returns are nothing short of impressive.
"It's wild; Day One (2026), the difference a year makes," Coen said during rookie camp. "We should be further along (compared to May 2025) and that's the expectation and standard. When they did come out to the (practice field), you saw it and you felt it."
That confidence isn't just talk. As the Jaguars wrap up Phase 2 of their program—where all coaches can lead individual and unit-only drills, though players still can't wear helmets or go offense vs. defense—the rhythm is already clicking. Coen noted that "the routes-on-air were way more crisp and clean," adding that the small details, like executing audibles or alerts against no defense, felt "very seamless."
For a team banking on continuity to fuel a faster start, this is exactly the kind of momentum that builds champions. Whether you're tracking the Jags' progress or just gearing up for game day, the energy in Jacksonville is real—and it's only heating up.
